Veterans For Gun Reform PSA

On Sunday March 18, 2018 a group of military veterans came together to create an all-veteran PSA about gun reform.

In solidarity with the March For Our Lives demonstrations on Saturday, March 24, these veterans lend their voices along side the kids, families and supporters demanding the end of gun violence and mass shootings. It stars military veterans of all genders, ages, ethnicities and military backgrounds. Their message is clear, “...we carried the M4/M16, we know its power first hand, and there is no reason it should be for sale in this country.”

Everyone has an opinion about guns, but few people know what it’s like to actually be in a life or death situation when deadly assault rifles are involved. The victims of the mass shootings are becoming a powerful voice for change and they tragically now share a first hand experience that was normally limited to military personnel only. In support of these young people’s brave protest a large group of U.S. military veterans have decided to speak out and call for a ban on military-style assault rifles. Because a weapon that’s used in wars shouldn’t be available over the counter.

The PSA was written and directed by Kyle Hausmann-Stokes, a U.S. Army combat veteran himself, produced by Ellen Utrecht of Mike Teevee. The PSA “Veterans For Gun Reform” will be published on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Vimeo, and the coveted landing page of WeTransfer (wetransfer.com), the industry standard file sharing platform for the media and creative industries.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR - Kyle Hausmann-Stokes

The spot is written and directed by Kyle Hausmann-Stokes. Kyle served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant, airborne infantryman, and convoy commander in Iraq.
